Questions to think about before beginning this lesson.
1. How would you describe a flower to someone on the phone? What information could you provide them so they would know what features you were describing?

2. What is the reason/ origin of why latin words are used for scientific terms? Why not another language?
Listen to a podcast.

This lesson is called the "Tree Classification." You will use the scientific classification system to classify organisms. Your job is to listen to a short podcast explaining how to navigate this lesson. Once you are finished, you complete part I-part III below.

Lesson

In this lesson today you will be working with the scientific classification system to classify organisms. 

Part I. You will be listening to a podcast showing you how to read and use a classification key. Print out a copy of the assignment Norno Classification and follow along.

Part II. You will work through an assignment called classifying trees where you will practice the skills you learned in part I. 
You will also need a copy of trees to help assist your efforts.

Part III. You will login to mastery connect and take an assessment called classifying trees.
