What The Program Offered:
This masters program has provided me with a great opportunity to learn and explore online instructional technology. All classes taken within this degree provided little snippets of the field "Instructional Technology." I express gratitude and excitement for the opportunity to have participated within this program and will value the knowledge and research obtained as well as the development of educational projects I can now use within my classroom. As I believe that online instructional will one day be a part of every high school education, I feel I am better prepared to teach in the twenty first century. It is without-a-doubt that this program has proven to be a highlight within my career and one that has provided me with extensive direction and desire to reach a new level of teaching
Future Teaching Goals:
My future teaching goals include completing the rest of the units of instruction for biology as started with my final masters project. Currently the Utah biology curriculum is divided into 5 standards with 3-4 objectives each. With all of standard 5 and one objective for standard 4 complete, it is my desire to complete the rest of the curriculum following the same format that includes teacher podcasts, simulations, web quests, worksheets, science labs, blogs, and nutips for online assessments.

Reflection on Program:
After completing my BS degree in 1994, I was apprehensive about jumping back into the education arena especially with the commitment of two years. But, this ended up being the right decision for me. I was at a point in my career that I aspired something more fulfilling within my job, but I just didn't know how to do it. I had attended many workshops trying to find that magical something that would motivate me to reach new heights, and although some things worked to fill a little bit of a void, nothing fit right for me until I enrolled in my masters program. This was much different from my undergraduate work in which I learned a lot of knowledge covering a variety of topics. With graduate school I narrowed my focus on one area I was extremely interested i in and attacked it with a full passion of interest. Each and every class offered something that was not only interesting but offered me the time with adjunct faculty and the collaboration of peers to create projects of quality that I could use within my regular biology classroom. After spending two years understanding who and what kind of a teacher I really esteem to be, I am grateful and thankful for this opportunity to develop and grow and become the type of educator I am proud of.
